Late in Term 2, Carolyn and I sought feedback from the Ti Kouka children about what was working well for them with their learning and how we were making a difference for them.
We were also interested to get some feedback regarding the changes we had made to the ladder basic facts procedures, as part of our teacher inquiry. We wanted to hear back from the children themselves about what they thought of the changes and if they were helping them to improve.
It was pleasing to hear from the children that they felt that so much of what we are doing is a help to their learning - it is confirmation that we are (mostly!) on the right track. I was particularly pleased to have so much positivity around mathletics, basic facts and family of facts, narrative writing, daily 5 initiatives and the changes to the ladder.
Some of the feedback was extremely thoughtful and reflective - great to see in such young learners and it thrills me to see that they are developing this ability to reflect and give feedback, a skills which will continue to be useful to them as they continue to grow in their learning.
Here's a link to the google doc which summarises the Ti Kouka learners' Term 2 feedback:

PS I challenged myself to learn something new so I could create graphs in sheets to display our feedback - quite proud of my efforts!
